Custom wine racking from La Vieille Garde is manufactured from torrefied poplar. The wood is baked in a kiln to give it superior properties for safe and secure wine storage. This high temperature kiln treatment originated in Finland and results in superior stability and resistance to splitting, warping and mould. The torrefaction process also results in the wood taking on a darker, richer hue.
